Since the spring semester of her freshman year at Rice University, including the summer months, Jessica Ha has been treating bacterial cultures in petri dishes with varying concentrations of D-amino acids, and recording the results.
David Warren started using the Center for Career Development (CCD) as a freshman. The captain of Rice’s varsity tennis team, Warren has used the CCD for help with résumé writing and for learning how to shine in interviews.
“Engineers solve problems. We find solutions by distilling problems down to their essential components so we can figure out what is not working and fix it. I think this a great skill to have, and one that is certainly applicable outside of engineering.”
