Michael Wong, professor and chair of Rice’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and professor of chemistry, has been elected a fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACS). He was honored for his work with nanoparticle-based catalysts.
Four engineering alumni, including chemical engineers David Gibbs, Priya Prasad and Teddy Bucher, have been honored by the Association of Rice Alumni (ARA) for their contributions to Rice. They were recognized at a dinner held May 12 at the River Oaks Country Club.
Ramon Gonzalez has been inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows for his “outstanding contributions to the fields of metabolic engineering and industrial biomanufacturing.”
At Rice Athletics’ 32nd Annual Scholar Athlete event earlier this month, multiple engineering students, including several from chemical and biomolecular engineering, were recognized for their excellence in the classroom and on the athletic field.
