Two Rice undergrads receive AIChE awards

Minjung Kim recognized for academic excellence, Savannah Tiemann for freshman involvement.

Rice University undergraduate students Minjung Kim and Savannah Tiemann have been recognized with awards from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Kim, a sophomore chemical and biomolecular engineering major, earned the Sophomore Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to one active AIChE undergraduate student member from each student chapter who has attained the highest scholastic grade-point average during the student's freshman and sophomore years.

Tiemann, who has yet to declare a major, received the Freshman Recognition Award, which is presented to students who have been the most active in their student chapter during their freshman year.
