Zeng places second in Base Editing Enzymes and Applications poster contest

Third-year graduate student works in lab of Xue “Sherry” Gao

Zane Zeng

Hongzhi “Zane” Zeng, a third-year graduate student in chemical and biomolecular engineering (ChBE) at Rice University, won second place in the student poster contest at the 4th International Conference on Base Editing Enzymes and Applications.

His research is titled “Engineered PROTAC-CID Systems for Mammalian Inducible Gene Regulation.” Zeng earned his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester and works in the lab of Xue “Sherry” Gao, Ted N. Law Assistant Professor of ChBE.

Zeng’s poster was among the 40 submitted at the conference, held Jan. 22-24 in Palm Springs, Calif.
